It seems reports that the bromance between 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather ending were overblown.
At first, rapper turned boxing promoter, 50 Cent, and boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather were close partners and friends. A recent twitter beef between the two sparked followers to choose sides and even got other rappers, like Rick Ross involved.
According to MTV.com and a couple other news sources, 50 Cent has recanted saying that “I’m sick of all the nonsense Floyd asked me to act like we’re fighting (because) no one was paying him any attention after his 60 days.”
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jacksion, and Mayweather were involved in The Money Team, a promotion company but, 50 have decided that he is starting his own promotion company called SMS Promotions. He already has contracts with well-known figures in the boxing world, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Andre Dirrell.
What’s that saying? Any publicity is good publicity.
Jackson has a new promotion company and Floyd Mayweather has a big ego. Both desire publicity to keep their careers and image alive. Not a bad idea to wage a twitter war to become the forefront of conversation!
Personally, I believe the beef was one hundred percent staged, Mayweather and Jackson are cracking open a bottle of champagne toasting their victory, and we’re picking sides via twitter. Check mate.
