Antonio Brown has epic response to Richard Sherman “Following him all game”
Pittsburgh Steelers pass-catching machine Antonio Brown has emerged as one of the best NFL wide receivers in the game over the past couple of seasons. The dude has caught 100 plus balls and over 1,499 yards in each of his last two seasons and is well on his way to another triple-digit pass catching season. With six games to go, Brown already has amassed over 1,100 yards receiving and could very well break the team record for receiving yards he set last season at 1,698.
However, during these past two plus seasons, Brown has yet to go up against arguably the best cornerback in the NFL, Richard Sherman. The critics will tell you that Sherman only defends one half of the field, doesn’t play in the slot and is a system player. All of that might be true to a degree, but all remains a moot point as Sherman consistently is among the leaders in every defensive category and has the accolades to prove it — despite failing to record an interception so far this season.
So the question on everyone’s mind is whether these two guys will be matched up on each other when the Seahawks host the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. And while quarterback Ben Roethlisberger believes Sherman will be tasked with the assignment of covering Brown, the explosive receiver seemed very relaxed at the notion of having a big, physical and cocky corner in his grill all game.
If Sherman does follow Brown around all game, he might be exhausted by the end of the game. Unlike many of the other stud receivers that Sherman has shut down, Antonio is much smaller, quicker and arguably more explosive — at least out of his stance. But the flip side is that Brown might be easier for Sherman to impose his physicality on as well.
This will be a great test to see the prowess of each player this Sunday as these two guys very well are the two best players at their respective positions.
