After number change, Stars’ Roussel offers to buy fans new jerseys
Antoine Roussel wore #60 for the Dallas Stars last year. But, after former #21 Loui Eriksson was traded to Boston in July (and even after Roussel pledged to keep his #60), Roussel decided to switch to Eriksson’s old sweater number- which also happens to be Roussel’s birthday (Nov. 21, 1989).
However, this change irked some fans who had bought Roussel’s number, after he become a fan-favorite as a rookie last year with his tenacious, feisty style of play. Below is a screenshot of a Twitter exchange Roussel had with a fan about the number change- which ended with Roussel promising to cover the charge of any fans who wanted to buy his new #21 to replace the old #60 Roussel jerseys.
Nice move by Roussel. The Hockey Gods approve:
“@Rous_ant: For those who bought my jersey with 60 last year, I’ll cover the change for 21. Hockey players: Classiest people on the planet.
