After a night out at a bar, you need to have a plan for getting back home safe and sound. A Florida Panthers prospect did so Sunday night, but found himself at someone else’s home.

23-year-old Scott Timmins, a sixth-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2009, was arrested Monday morning after he was found asleep on the couch in a house belonging to San Antonio resident Benjamin Garza. KENS explains how the situation went down.

The police report states that when Garza’s wife found Timmins sitting on her couch,  she asked him who he was, to which he responded, “Don’t worry about that.”

“He was yelling, ‘What are you doing in my house,'” said Garza. “My wife said, ‘You need to get the hell out of here,'” added Garza. She was able to escape through a back door with her kids.

The situation could have escalated much more had Garza been home with his wife, according to Chris Peters of Eye on Hockey.

Garza explained to reporter Karen Grace that upon facing Timmins, he told the Panthers prospect, “You’re lucky I wasn’t here because I would’ve put a bullet between your eyes and it would’ve been over for you.”

Timmins played for the Rampage in a loss to the Oklahoma City Barons on Sunday night. Timmins has recorded 9 goals and 16 points in 50 games for the Rampage this year. He has not played for the Panthers since making his season debut back on Feburary 26th.

Moral of the story: leave the drunken antics to the movie actors.
