Photo: LA Kings’ playoff hero Justin Williams left off Stanley Cup Final shirt
The Los Angeles Kings are currently doing battle with the New York Rangers for the Stanley Cup. The Kings hold a 3-1 series lead after the Rangers won on Wednesday night preventing a sweep for the Kings.
A big reason why the Kings are in the Stanley Cup Finals over the Chicago Blackhawks, the team they vanquished in the Western Conference Finals in seven games, is due to a man known as ‘Mr. Game 7′. A man who has earned ten points in the six Game 6 and 7’s the Kings have played this postseason.
That man’s name is Justin Williams. Look up the word ‘clutch’ in a dictionary and you will find Justin Williams.
According to Reebok, the makers of the official Stanley Cup t-shirts, being clutch and helping your tea get to the biggest game of their lives isn’t worthy enough to be included on the Kings’ Stanley Cup Final t-shirts. As we can see from the picture below, Justin Williams has been left off.
Williams is in the running to have his name etched on the Conn Smythe Trophy as being seen as the most valuable player during the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. Which is a lot more of a reward than appearing on a souvenir “at least we made it” t-shirt.
