Stamkos Leaves Game on a Stretcher
Steven Stamkos left the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruin game on a stretcher this afternoon. During the second period Stamkos slid into the Lightning goal and appeared to injure his right leg. After being unable to get up, Stamkos punched the ice at TD Garden in frustration before medical personnel attended to him.
The Lightning have been of to a fast start this season, leading the Eastern Conference with 24 points, two more than idle Pittsburg. Losing Stamkos, a former 60 goal scorer, for any period of time would be a devastating loss.
