WATCH: Seabrook crushes choking Red Wings with OT winner
Down 3-1 in a best of 7 series against the Detroit Red Wings, many people were ready to count the Chicago Blackhawks out. Brent Seabrook. After tying the series at three games a piece, the Blackhawks and Red Wings went to a decisive Game 7 and needed more than 60 minutes to determine a winner. Like two titans in a boxing ring, both teams threw their best punches with both goalies standing up to the task.
That is until Brent Seabrook came along.
Seabrook’s first of the playoffs was the goal that sent the Blackhawks back to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2010 when they won the Stanley Cup where they’ll take on the defending Cup champion LA Kings.
After Dave Bolland hit Wings forward Gustav Nyquist, Seabrook did his best impersonation of Edge when he wrestled in the WWE; the Ultimate Opportunist scooped up the puck in the neutral zone, skated into enemy territory, and wristed a shot over the glove of Jimmy Howard to ultimately immortalize himself in Blackhawks history.
Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals is Saturday in Chicago.
