WATCH: Stamkos nets natural hat trick vs. Toronto

  • Arun Morace

It took a little while, but Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos is officially back to being the goal-scoring machine he was before breaking his leg last November. After returning to action on March 6, it took Stamkos four games to finally register a goal. He scored again two games later, and exploded against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight.

Down 2-1 with just under seven minutes to go in the first, Stamkos took it upon himself to get the Lightning the lead- and then some. Stamkos scored at 13:22 of the first period, then again two minutes and 17 seconds later to give Tampa Bay a 3-2 lead at the end of the first. 5:55 into the second period, Stamkos hit the twine for a third time, giving him a natural hat trick before the game had even reached its halfway point.
