Chipper Jones has taken his talents to… uh, well, somewhere besides Twitter. Jones walked away on Wednesday morning with a final Tweet at 8:23 AM, saying that he is done with the social media giant, and crediting too much hate and trolls as his reasoning for leaving.
No more twitter for me. Said I’d do it for one year and the time is up. Too much hate and too many trolls. Much love to Braves country! Xo

Jones has had a colorful Twitter career, touching on many subjects around the sports world, including on Tweet about former Rutgers basketball coach, Mike Rice. The particular Tweet strikes me as ironic, because Chipper lashed out and told people to “grow up” and “toughen up”. Now, the former Atlanta Braves 3rd basemen quits Twitter because of “trolls”? It just seems funny to me.
I got cursed at and called names by a ton of people growing up. Were they fired? Nope! Do I care? Nope! What’s the big deal? Toughen up!
