Baltimore Orioles first basemen, Chris Davis, got another opportunity this afternoon putting the reigning MVP, Miguel Cabrera, on notice. Davis continued his home run binge belting out two more home runs Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park. Chris hit his league leading 25th & 26th home run in a 13-3 route over a stunned Tiger team.
His first home run was a two-run shot in the fourth inning against Rick Porcello and his second two-run shot came against the struggling Jose Valverde in mop up duty in the ninth inning. Davis went 3-5 for the day 2HR, DBL and 5RBI.
Chris Davis has a commanding lead over Prince Fielder at first base for the 2013 All-Star Game by almost a million votes. It will be the first time in his big league career that he gets voted in. Davis actually made a name for himself last season when he hit a career high 33 home runs. If he continues his home run surge this season he will be on pace to smack 58 home runs.
Here’s a look at his big day in Detroit.
