In Monday’s game at Fenway Park, right fielder Dayan Viciedo of the Chicago White Sox belted a three-run homer off Boston Red Sox’ starter Clay Buchholz. The White Sox would win 4-0 and the Red Sox would subsequently slip into last place in the American League East.
Then against Brandon Workman, with the bases loaded and nobody out in the second inning, Viciedo hit a roller to first baseman Mike Napoli. Napoli dropped it, then an attempt to pick it up he flinched as if it was a bee. (via YouTube)
The White Sox would score two runs in the inning, then go on to win 8-3. The Red Sox remain in last place in the AL East and 10 games back in the wild card race. The White Sox are 7 1/2 back in the American League Central and 5 1/2 back in the wild card.
