Brandon Jennings’ “Auditioning for other NBA teams this season”
Brandon Jennings is clearly feeling unwanted by the Milwaukee Bucks after not receiving an extension and says that he is “auditioning for other teams, too” Via Slam Online.
Jennings is trying to show the league what he is worth in the event that he does receive lots of interest as a restricted free agent next summer.
“I think I just have to play basketball, come here every day and work hard,” Jennings said. “At the end of the day I’m still under contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. I’m still going to get paid so I have to go out there and perform. Just take it for what it is.”
“I’m going to just play this year out and do what I have to do here,” Jennings said. “The main goal is still trying to win, still trying to make the playoffs. Then I’ll be able to make my own decision. The main thing is, I could say I’m kind of auditioning for other teams, too. The fact if they see what I can do, what I can bring to the table this year for the Bucks, anything can happen in the summertime. Now I’m just going to take it for what it is and ball out, man. Take this as it’s my rookie year again. Take it that I’m the fresh meat that nobody’s ever seen play.”
Sounds like Jennings will be a man on a mission this season if he wants to receive a big payday from the Bucks, or the many other suitors that will likely be out to ink the dynamic point guard to a long-term deal during the off-season. Jennings has proved his chops as a scoring guard, but should eye to work on his passing game a bit.
The 4th year player player has averaged 16.8 (19.1 last season) points for his career, but just a shade over 5 dimes per game. I look for Jennings to show that eye of the tiger as he moves forward and looks to imprint his mark on a point guard dominated league.
