BREAKING : Chris Paul to Los Angeles Lakers

  • Andy Flint

Well Chris Broussard just broke big news in the NBA. Chris Paul will be dealt to the Lakers for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. It’s a three team deal between the Lakers, Hornets, and Rockets. Of course the Lakers are getting Chris Paul, the Hornets will get Lamar Odom, the Rockets will get Pau Gasol, and there will be players to be named later. It’s rumored Kevin Martin and Luis Scola are also on their way to New Orleans.

Paul’s second choice to New York was LA. So it’s likely he’ll stay there for the long term with Kobe Bryant. This now sets the Lakers up to form a big three of their own. Maybe someone like Dwight Howard? The Magic are still hopeful Dwight will remain in Orlando. He’s talked about it and wasn’t like Paul in that he knew he was gone at seasons end. If there were to be a trade for Howard, the Lakers still have Bynum to offer.

Will the Lakers ever be rebuilding?

NBA owners have pushed commissioner David Stern to kill the deal sending Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell Y! Sports.

Looks like Stern killed the deal. Weird.
