Josh Gordon established himself as the number one wide receiver last season for the Cleveland Browns, which isn’t saying a lot. After snatching 50 balls for 805 yards and 5 touchdowns, Gordon seems poised for a huge breakout season under new offensive coordinator, Norv Turner. With Turner’s new approach of passing the ball down-field this has Josh Gordon thinking big.
“Defenses will be shocked to say the least with how much we’re running down field,” Gordon said. “I’ve never ran this much as a wide receiver ever in my life, and that’s a good thing. And not just me, everyone from the slot guys to running backs, everyone’s got passing plays in the system.”
Gordon may be right with his statements regarding the Browns new offense. Although Turner wasn’t a good head coach, he’s had very good success as an offensive coordinator. In Trent Richardson, the Browns already have a nice young running back that can build upon an impressive rookie year. If Josh Gordon continues to grow the Browns may have something. Of course, this is all contingent on quarterback Brandon Weeden playing better. Get ready for an interesting year in Cleveland.
