Chaminade, a Division II school with an enrollment of around 1,200 students, isn’t exactly a basketball powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination. However, they did manage to upset #1 Virginia back in 1982.
Monday night, Chaminade pulled out an unlikely 86-73 win over Texas at the Maui Invitational. Keep in mind ‘Cham has a 6-76 record in the 29 year history of the Maui Invitational, and they are usually nothing more than a doormat for the good teams. After the victory Monday night, not even Chaminade’s own website, goswords.com, believed they had beaten Texas as it was initially listed as a loss hours after the game:
