Not often do you hear your star point guard sounding off on his team’s incompetence after reeling off 17 straight victories. That is just what Los Angeles Clippers point guard, Chris Paul did after his team’s second straight defeat courtesy of the Golden State Warriors. Both teams have been surprisingly stellar thus far in the early season, but not many expected the Warriors to trounce the Clippers by the score of 115-94. Chris Paul had this to say after the defeat.
“We are just terrible; we just didn’t match their intensity,” Chris Paul says. “They hit us in the mouth and we reacted instead of being the aggressor.”
The loss drops the Clippers to 25-8 on the young season. After winning 17 straight games the Clippers have now hit a minor bump in the road. Could they perhaps be looking ahead to their big showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers this Friday? The Lakers also lost their last game and will be looking to set a statement as they try to get back to a .500 record.
