Just a few hours after sweeping the San Diego Padres, the Washington Nationals added a little depth to their bench by trading for right handed hitting outfielder Scott Hairston. As reported by Masn’s Dan Kolko through Ken Rosenthal:

The pitcher has not been named yet, however it makes it interesting to see who may or may not be moved down to the minor leagues or if someone may be injured. Hairston is only hitting .172 in 52 games this season but does have 8 home runs and 19 RBIs in his 99 plate appearances.

Let’s just hope that no one has any long term injuries and the trade for Hairston is just to add some potential pop off the bench to help Chad Tracy and Tyler Moore.
