Just days after the tragedy that struck Washington D.C., the Washington Nationals did their best to pay tribute to those lost. The wore a patch on their jerseys scripting “Naval Yard 9.16.13.” The Nationals were set to play on the 16th, however that game was postponed due to the shooting that occurred at the Naval Yard earlier that day. While there is little you can do with a deadly tragedy, this is a known gesture by the sporting world and those lost earlier this week will be remembered and never forgotten.
