Video: Jayson Werth’s Go-Ahead Grand Slam

  • Ben Lasky

The Washington Nationals were involved in a tug of war in Wednesday night’s game against the Florida Marlins. The Nats went from being down five in the second inning, to up one in the sixth, to down one going into the bottom of the eighth. However, in the bottom of the inning Nats right fielder Jayson Werth put the game away. With one out and men on first and second, the Marlins decided to walk second baseman Anthony Rendon to get to Werth. You can guess what happened next. Werth jumped on a 0-1 fastball from Carlos Marmol that was right down the middle and put it in the left field bullpen to put the Nats up 10-7. Watch the blast below.
