WATCH: O’s rookie Joseph belt first career home run
We all have memorable moments in our lives: graduating high school, getting married, the birth of your first child, but no moment ranks higher for a rookie in the MLB than hitting your first home run, and that’s exactly what Caleb Joseph did last night in Yankee’s Stadium.
With the O’s already crushing the Bronx Bombers 8-0 in the top of the 9th, Joseph slammed a 3-2 pitch to left field for his first career Major League home run. The victim? Yankees’ reliever David Huff.
The 28 year old rookie from Nashville, Tennessee was a 7th round pick of the Orioles in the 2008 MLB Draft. His brother Corbin was also a 2008 draftee, ironically by the New York Yankees in the 4th round.
