John Wall inks his new deal
With his new 5-year, $80 million dollar maximum contract extension, Washington Wizards’ star point guard John Wall looks to have one of the brightest futures for young stars in the NBA. According to the Washington Post, Wall’s contract is the third richest in franchise history. Only Gilbert Arenas and Juwan Howard had more lucrative deals than Wall. With his deal beginning next season the new contract will extend till the 2018-19 season and will put Wall as one of the few point guards to receive a maximum contract, especially as a 22-year-old.

Although Wall missed a majority of the season due to his knee surgery and recovery, the last 49 games he was able to turn one of the worst NBA teams around in the right direction and recorded some of the best stats since he joined the league in 2010.

With the Wizards continually trying to restructure their team, Wall’s new contract was a no-brainer.
