Wizards’ Trevor Ariza goes H.A.M. versus Philadelphia in first quarter
Trevor Ariza is in a contract year with the Washington Wizards. He has been a driving force behind the Wizards now 31-28 record. Ariza is averaging 14.3 points a game for the Wizards this season and shooting 45% from the field. However the staggering offensive number is his 41.3% 3-point field goal percentage.
This percentage got a boost on Saturday night against Philadelphia. In just the first quarter, Trevor Ariza was 6 for 6 from beyond the arc. Not to mention he was an overall 9-10 from the field finishing the quarter with 24 points. The Philadelphia 76ers, in a night in which they honored Allen Iverson, were only able to put up 28 points as a team in the first half!

It is certainly hard to beat this Wizards team on a normal night, but when Ariza goes off like this, it is hard to beat them period. Ariza finished the game with a career high 40 points and 8 for 12 3-point field goals. The Wizards went on to win 122-103 for their 6th straight win.
