Redskins sign another linebacker, add Akeem Jordan to the mix

The Redskins have continued their frugal ways in free agency and keep signing lesser known players to stockpile talent and bodies for this season. Today the Redskins signed former Chiefs linebacker Akeem Jordan.

Jordan has only played for Andy Reid (in both Philadelphia and Kansas City), but will add depth and a special teams presence. He will add to the middle linebacker competition to start next to Perry Riley. Jordan will have both Darryl Sharpton and Adam Hayward to compete with when the season begins.

According to @Ravensinsider, the deal is just for one year. Most likely a prove it deal to see if Jordan would be worth keeping past this season.

Jordan is also a James Madison Alum, so many fans are stoked that he is “coming home.”
