RGIII donates $100,000 worth of equipment to Copperas Cove
Robert Griffin III is rich and famous. He has the kind of job that kids dream about, being a quarterback in the National Football League.
It seems that RGIII is also a very generous person and wants to help kids achieve their dreams of being the next Robert Griffin III. He’s donated a load of equipment worth $100,000 to Copperas Cove high schools. Griffin is an alumni of Copperas Grove. From the Kileem Daily Herald:
The Washington Redskins quarterback and high-profile alumni of Cove donated more than $100,000 worth of athletic gear to the Copperas Cove Independent School District.
Griffin, who won the Heisman Trophy while playing at Baylor, partnered with Adidas to donate uniforms for the school’s football team, as well as the boys basketball and track teams.
The school district board still has to green-light the donation due to how much it is and the fact it targets the specific sports, according to the Herald. Griffin played all three sports growing up. Back in October, Griffin donated new uniforms to his high school.
Griffin had a terrible season for the Redskins, not all of it his fault. He’ll be looking to bounce back under new head coach Jay Gruden in 2014.
