WATCH: Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby drops gloves against Ray Emery
Every hockey fan loves to see hockey players fight, but hockey fans love it even more when goalies fight! And in tonight’s game between the Capitals and the Philadelphia Flyers, that’s exactly what happened.
With the Caps up 7-0 (yes that’s not a typo) a brawl broke out that rivaled ones that the Flyers would have started back in the 70’s when they were the “Broad Street Bullies.” While Caps forward Tom Wilson scrapped with Flyers’ winger Wayne Simmonds, both Holtby and Emery met in the far corner, put up their dukes, and settled the score like men. Though Emery, who’s famous for dropping the gloves against Martin Biron and the Buffalo Sabres while in Ottawa, got the better of Holtby, the fact that there was a goalie fight was good enough!
