Hearing that David DeJesus will be playing at be playing at Wrigley Field on Monday wouldn’t ordinarily be news, except this time he will be sporting a Washington Nationals’ uniform.

The Nationals have received outfielder David DeJesus from the Cubs for a player to be named later. In order to create room for Dejesus on the already 25-man Nationals’ roster, Roger Bernadina had to be released. Bernadina, a six-year major leaguer has spent his entire MLB career with the Nationals, hitting 25 home runs and recording 107 runs in 468 total games.

DeJesus, a 33-year-old MLB veteran who formerly played with the Royals and Athletics, signed with the Cubs after being picked up out of free agency shortly before the 2012 season. He is batting a .250 average with six home runs and 27 total RBIs currently this year and throughout his 11 major league seasons he has hit a .279 average with 86 home runs along with a hefty 513 RBIs.

Although that the PTBNL will most likely not be announced until after the season is over, speculations have begun to arise on who will be heading to the Chicago Cubs for the upcoming year.
