Doc Rivers does not like a former Boston Celtics star he coached
Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers apparently has a strong dislike for his former point guard, Rajon Rondo. While Rivers had a very successful run as coach of the Boston Celtics, there was several reports of friction between the two. And it doesn’t stop there. Rondo had a beef with sharpshooter Ray Allen during their tenure together as well.
Which leads us to a behind the scenes segment of ESPN’s Around the Horn. During a break, Frank Isola and Jackie MacMullan were discussing potential trades for Rajon Rondo. When the suggesting of the Clippers came up, MacMullan flat-out said that Rivers doesn’t like Rondo and that he drives him nuts.
“He doesn’t like Rondo, remember that,” MacMullan said. “I mean, he’s done with Rondo. They went a good, long way together, but that guy — Rondo drives him nuts. And then (the Clippers have) Chris Paul anyway, they don’t need him.”
