49ers’ Glenn Dorsey likely out for 2014 season
The San Francisco 49ers were hit by another injury today as nose tackle Glenn Dorsey suffered a torn bicep during practice today and is reportedly now out for the entire 2014 season. This news delivers another blow to the 49ers, after running back Kendall Hunter tore his ACL on July 25. Two days later, another running back, LaMichael James dislocated his elbow.
Dorsey’s injury will create another hole in the 49ers defense that already lost linebacker NaVorro Bowman until at least mid-season and will likely see linebacker Aldon Smith receive a multi-game suspension for his off-the-field legal troubles.
The 49ers also lost safety Donte Whitner and corner backs Tarell Brown and Carlos Rogers to free agency.
Dorsey was the fifth overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008. In 2013, Dorsey signed a two-year contract with the 49ers.
