Alec Ogletree charged with DUI
One of the brightest stars heading into the 2013 NFL Draft this April is Georgia linebacker Alec Ogletree. The former safety, turned inside linebacker, has been shooting up draft boards after his impressive play over the last few months of Georgia’s season.
Now, it appears as though his shine might be beginning to fade as the linebacker was charged last weekend with driving under the influence.
His agent, Pat Dye, spoke to ProFootballTalk.com about the incident.
“Last weekend, my client Alec Ogletree was pulled over for speeding and a lane violation in Arizona,” agent Pat Dye, Jr. tells PFT. “After the officers smelled alcohol, they conducted tests and also cited him for DUI. Although Alec regrets this incident terribly, he is thankful that there was no accident and that no one was hurt. Because this matter is still pending, we cannot comment further publicly at this time.”
This is not the first time Ogletree has been in trouble as earlier this season he was suspended four games for a positive drug test.
While Ogletree can certainly make up for the incident during this month’s combine, certain NFL teams may question his character after being in trouble again.
