Andy Reid: Michael Vick thinks he let the team down, but he didn’t
Last week, as the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Dallas Cowboys, quarterback Michael Vick was knocked out of the game after a hard hit gave him a severe concussion. After a few weeks of fans calling for a change, the team was forced to put rookie quarterback Nick Foles into the game.
This week, Vick has been ruled out with the same concussion. Head coach Andy Reid said Vick blames himself for being ruled out. He went on to add that Vick shouldn’t feel that way.
“I know that one of his goals was, obviously, not to get hurt and make it through the season,” Reid said. “Mike is a very considerate guy. He feels like he lets people down and his teammates down, and that’s not the case. He’s hurt. One of the toughest guys I’ve been around, though.”
It has been a rough year in Philadelphia as the Eagles are currently 3-6. Fans and critics have been calling for the team to replace Michael Vick with Nick Foles. Others believe head coach Andy Reid will lose his job at the end of the year.
