Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice Arrested in Atlantic City
Per a report from the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Ravens star running back Ray Rice was arrested after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with a woman this weekend. Rice’s attorney, Andrew Alperstein, confirmed Rice was charged and released after what the attorney termed was “a very minor physical altercation” at a casino in Atlantic City. Per the attorney, Rice’s fiancée as also charged in connection with the incident and subsequently also released.
The Ravens public relations department released the following statement:
“We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancee. We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained,” said Chad Steele, director of public relations.
No details have been provided by Rice or the Atlantic City police.
Rice signed a five-year, $35 million contract with the team in 2012. Since being drafted by the Ravens in the 2nd round of the 2008 draft, he has rushed for 6,180 yards and 37 touchdowns averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
