Brandon Bolden suspended for violating NFL drug policy
By: Katherine Warren
Running back Brandon Bolden has been suspended from the New England Patriots for four games after violating the NFL’s policy against performance enhancing drugs.
Bolden’s suspension is effective immediately and will result in him being ineligible to be on the active roster until December 2, 2012 when the Patriots play the Miami Dolphins.
Although Bolden has 43 carries, 234 yards and two touchdowns this season, he has been questionable with a knee injury and wasn’t going to play in their upcoming game against the Bills.
Steven Ridley, the Patriots number one running back has been the primary target when it comes to the run game. With Brandon Bolden now suspended, Shane Vereen has the chance to play a big role for the Patriots. This offense has also started utilizing play-action and that will be a definite plus for their upcoming games.
