The St Louis Rams are getting desperate.

So desperate that they approached former Green Bay Packers, New York Jet and Minnesota Viking signal caller – Brett Favre – and asked if he would like to come out of a three-year retirement for another shot.  Naturally, Favre turned them down.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported earlier that an offer was made.

Yes, that Brett Favre. The same Favre who couldn’t decide if he was going to retire or not and changing his mind several times during the twilight of his career.  After the circus of ‘FavreWatch’ during those years of indecision, it seems strange to see Favre quietly happy and content with retirement.

The reason the Rams are knocking around the door of a forty-four year old Brett Favre who hasn’t played a down in the NFL since the end of the 2010 season – three years ago – is due to Sam Bradford tearing an ACL in the 15-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Since the Rams are looking through the Yellow Pages for retired quarterbacks, I wonder how long it will be before we hear the likes of  Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb or Marc Bulger are made an offer to “unretire” for one last shot?
