Broncos’ HC John Fox released from hospital
The Denver Broncos have been given a great morale boost before their Week Ten meeting with the San Diego Chargers. Head coach John Fox was released from hospital in Charlotte on Friday.
Fox underwent successful aortic heart valve replacemet surgury on Monday. He was admitted to hospital last Saturday after feeling light headed and complaining about chest pains while playing golf.
Fox said he was recovering well after the surgery.
“My recovery is progressing well — I am feeling better and getting stronger each day,” Fox said in the statement. “I will begin the next phase of my recovery in Charlotte and continue outpatient appointments with doctors, who will clear me to return to Denver when the time is right.”
While Fox will not be not be cleared to rejoin the team and continue his duties as head coach for some time as he recovers, it’s great news for Denver players and fans.
Defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio, will be the interim head coach while Fox recovers.
