Eric Berry left practice early on Thursday with a leg injury.  Berry, a three-time Pro Bowler, was able to walk off the field under his own power despite a noticeable limp.  After trainers checked on him in the medical tent, he was carted off to the locker room.

Adam Schefter tweeted the following after Berry’s injury.

Cornerback Marcus Cooper went down with an injury not long after Berry and also exited practice early.  This was bad news for a Chiefs team that also lost safety Sanders Commings to a right leg injury earlier in the week.  Commings will need surgery to repair the broken ankle.  The secondary struggled last season and also lacks depth at both corner and safety.  After losing Brandon Flowers, Kansas City can’t afford any more injuries to their defensive backs.

News out of training camp Friday was tweeted out by Randy Covitz.

This is great news for the Chiefs as it looks like Cooper is already back at practice and Eric Berry will be back in less than a week.  You can now exhale Chiefs fans.
