Chip Kelly: “Nick Foles is my starting QB for the next 1,000 years.”

After replacing the oft-injured Michael Vick as the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback, second-year signal caller out of Arizona Napoleon Dynamite Nick Foles has set the league on fire to the tune of 19 touchdowns and NO interceptions. That’s amazing. Anyway, the Eagles are knocking on the door of the NFC Wild-Card race and are still in the mix for the NFC East crown as well. Everyone seems to be hopping on the Foles bandwagon. Yes, this includes even the die-hard Michael Vick jock-riders.

But no one seems to be going more nuts over Foles’ performance than his coach, Chip Kelly. Check out what he had to say on 97.3 ESPN FM radio:

If that’s not a vote of confidence in a guy, I don’t know what is, albeit hyperbole. Kelly made the right call by officially naming Foles the starter for the rest of the 2013 campaign – and it’s a call that may just save their season if the Eagles can sneak into the playoffs.
