Colts owner Jim Irsay formally charged in relation to March arrest
When Colts owner Jim Irsay was arrested in March, sadly it wasn’t a surprise to many.
After the news broke, Irsay checked himself into a rehabilitation center and wasn’t heard from until last weeks owners meetings. Commissioner Goodell answered questions in relation to Irsay’s ordeal but remained adamant that the NFL would do nothing until the legal process played itself out.
A new chapter begins today as FOX59 reports that Jim Irsay has officially been charged in relation to the March arrest for felony drug possession, amongst other things, including DUI.
The bad news is that Irsay is being charged – the good news is that he isn’t charged with any felonies and will face two misdemeanor counts.
Irsay has been charged with one count of operating while intoxicated, a C misdemeanor and one count of operating a vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substances or its metabolite in the body, also a C misdemeanor. The substances were oxycodone and/or hydrocodone, according to FOX59.
He appeared at owners meeting and said that he has been in the loop as to what’s been going on with the team and he’s maintained communication throughout the process. He also said that he knew he had a lot to work on and is bettering himself as he moves on from the unfortunate events.
Word on the street is that Aaron Hernandez is requesting the same District Attorney that Irsay had the pleasure of working with.
