Cutler has a message for Packers defensive backs: “Good luck”
As the Chicago Bears prepare for their showdown with division rival Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Jay Cutler is already giving the Packers bulletin board material. Cutler has always been a confident guy, but this year he seems to be a bit more confident. As opposed to year’s past, the Bears are finally putting weapons around Cutler as the team drafted South Carolina’s Alshon Jeffrey in the second round and brought in Brandon Marshall from Miami via trade.
Probably because of the weapons surrounding him, Cutler has already begun trashing talking for Thursdays game.
On top of the offensive weapons, Chicago is facing a defense that allowed 22.4 points per game in 2011 and just allowed Alex Smith and the 49ers to pour on thirty points in their week one loss.
Cutler has a message for defensive backs who previously stifled Bears receivers by covering them man-to-man and jamming them at the line of scrimmage.
That’s what Cutler said Tuesday, via our pal John Mullin of CSNChicago.com. “We invite press coverage,” Cutler said. “We welcome it.”
They especially welcome it now that they have big receivers, like Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey.
