Darrelle Revis Endorses Tim Tebow

A few weeks ago, Jets coach Rex Ryan raved about Tim Tebow’s performance in mini-camp. Now, it appears the face of the franchise, stud cornerback Darrelle Revis, is drinking the same water. While interviewing with Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, Revis had some high praise comments about Tebow:

He’s a born leader, he really is.Very few athletes have the gift he has.  He tries to lead by example all the time.  He tries to be positive, which is awesome, and that has resulted in his success on the field. . . .some people have it, some guys don’t.  It’s the passion within, wanting to be a leader, wanting to win. You see it all the time, eating lunch, walking down the hallway.  You see it.”

I can only imagine how much more difficult this could make the situation for Mark Sanchez. I have personally said all along if Tebow makes even the slightest improvements in his deficient areas, namely his throwing his mechanics and accuracy, that he will eventually be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets. Rex Ryan and Darrelle Revis are on the bandwagon, and that can’t settle well with Mark Sanchez. It’s safe to say he’ll be looking over his shoulder heading into the season, as the Head Coach and best player on the team already seem to have a bit of favoritism for Tim Tebow.
