Deion Sanders saved Pro-Bowl Streaker from going to Jail
If you watched Sunday’s Pro-Bowl, which was actually pretty good, you remember the short break NBC had to take because of a streaker.
Well, this particular streaker was dressed, and it turns out she was doing it to keep a promise to a loved one in New Mexico who is paralyzed and needed a smile put on his face.
So in the fourth quarter, Katrina Torres hopped over the railing and past security to run around the field in and out of players with a bikini and a cape that read “I did it for Gary”.
Gary, the cousin in New Mexico couldn’t talk to express his feelings, but let everyone around him know he was thrilled.
“He can’t talk, but he was just smiling a lot and he was just fist pumping. They said as soon as we saw you jump, his face just lit up and he was just fist pumping and stuff so that made it so worth it for me,” Torres said via KHON2.
Gary was in a motorcycle accident two years ago that let him paralyzed. One of his goals was to make it to the Pro-Bowl, and that was supposed to happen this year but it was too difficult to get there, which is why Katrina kept her promise.
After a few seconds of running around on the field, security eventually caught up to her and she started telling them why she did it.
Deion Sanders overheard the story and went over to Torres’ rescue.
“Deion Sanders came running behind us and he’s like, ‘Hey don’t arrest her. That was really cool. Just don’t arrest her. If you arrest her, I’m gonna bail her right out,’” Torres said.
She says that she was prepared to go to jail, knowing what she did was illegal, but Sanders was there to keep it from happening.
She did however get a one-year ban, which will expire right before next years Pro-Bowl.
