Eagles players find out, even Chip Kelly’s practices are uptempo
When the Philadelphia Eagles signed former Oregon head coach as their new head coach, most assumed the team would start running an uptempo style of offense. With off-season practices getting under way this week, players on the Eagles team found out just how uptempo their play is going to be next season.
“I mean, the workout today was up-tempo, a lot of drills and different stuff we don’t normally do. I’m sure it’s going to be real up-tempo,” Peters told Mike Garafolo.
“They just got after us. Everything is just quick, a lot of reps, quick pace … 40 (yard dash), hurdles, ladders, stuff like that. Working the quick feet, the quick movements, the up-tempo pace, that’s the stuff we worked on today.”
DeSean Jackson told Garafolo that he believes Kelly is trying to weed out those players who cannot keep up with the new faster pace.
As a fan of Kelly at Oregon, I cannot wait to see what the Eagles have in store for the NFL this season.
I also want to see if Kelly can be successful running the uptempo offense in the NFL.
