Earl Thomas to wear tape with messages from the ’12th Man’ in Super Bowl
Earl Thomas, the feared defensive enforcer of the Seattle secondary with go into action on Sunday evening against the Denver Broncos in the biggest game of his career with a secret weapon. He will play against the Broncos with words of fan support written on the tape he wears for the game.
Thomas will wear the tape under his socks.
The campaign was set up by Air Jordan who asked fans to tweet messages to the Seahawks safety. Thomas will be booted in a pair of Air Jordan Vi football cleats. An example of a message is below.
“2/3rds of the world is covered by water. The other 1/3rd is covered by Earl Thomas”
The video below shows how they were made.
Thomas has had a great season for the Seahawks. He had five interceptions, ten passes defended, and two forced fumbles. He was voted to his third straight Pro Bowl, a game he couldn’t play in due to his Super Bowl commitments, and was chosen as an All Pro for the third time.
Along with Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor, he makes up the ‘Legion of Boom’ in the Seattle secondary and they are feared for their physical play and big hits. They should give Peyton Manning something to worry about on Sunday.
