Falcons RB Jason Snelling arrested for Marijuana Possession at 4:20 Friday Morning
The Falcons offense has been abysmal this season, struggling in several different ways.
Julio Jones is out, Matt Ryan can’t be protected behind a shoddy offensive line and Stephen Jackson has been a free agent bust.
When it rains it pours, as a report indicates that RB Jason Snelling was arrested Friday Morning for Marijuana possession, amongst other things.
The Barrow County News reports that Snelling was pulled over in his black Lincoln Navigator at around 3:35 Friday for swerving in and out of traffic, a violation in which would lead to his arrest for possession of Marijuana.
Police say there was a strong Marijuana odor coming from the vehicle and Snelling admitted to smoking it with a friend earlier that night.
Police asked Snelling if there was any Marijuana in the vehicle and he informed them that there was. After police searched the vehicle they found a metal grinder with Marijuana inside of it, and noticed Snelling was swallowing something. Police checked Snelling’s mouth and found leafy, green particles – but he denied swallowing any drugs.
After a search of the vehicle and Mr. Snelling, police arrested him at 4:20 and took him into custody.
He was charged with possession of marijuana – less than one ounce, possession of drug related materials, expired or no driver’s license, failure to maintain a lane, failure to maintain valid insurance, improper use of a dealer license plate and no registration.
Busted at 4:20, some people will get a kick out of that.
Snelling was a seventh round pick by the Falcons in 2007, he has been with the team since being drafted.
Update: The team has released a statement regarding the arrest.
“We are aware of the situation concerning Jason Snelling and are in the process of gathering additional information. Because this is an on-going legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.”
