Jeff Fisher: CJ2K will be back this year

Jeff Fisher, the former Titans coach of seventeen years, has a few thoughts on current Titans running back, Chris Johnson’s previous season. Fisher, the current Saint Louis Rams coach, believes last year was a fluke and that fans should delete last year from their memory.

“I didn’t watch all that much of him last year, but that kind of thing doesn’t happen overnight,” Fisher said, via John Glennon of the Tennessean. “C.J. is still a tremendously talented running back and he’s still got a lot ahead of him. You had coaching changes, you had philosophical changes, you had a lockout and you had no offseason. So you just delete last year and move on with high expectations.”

Whether or not the contract dispute, missing of OTA’s and threatening to hold out hindered Johnson last year remains to be seen. However, if you ask Chris Johnson, he still thinks he is the best back in the league.

From a fantasy standpoint, Johnson might be a risk this year after letting down his owners in 2011. NFL.com currently has him as the first pick in the second round in their current fantasy football draft. If it were me, I would rather take a gamble on oft-injured Darren McFadden or get a later round back like Frank Gore (Round 4), Michael Turner (Round 5), or even Fred Jackson (Round 5).

Our fantasy draft is coming soon. Stay tuned for those results.
