Many were shocked, to say the least, after former DC Rob Ryan was fired by owner Jerry Jones. There are now reports that Jerry Jones wants Jason Garrett to stop calling plays for the offense. This was reported by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio:

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, owner Jerry Jones is pushing coach Jason Garrett to relinquish play-calling duties. Per Mort, Jones also may be trying to get Garrett to fire his brother, tight ends coach John Garrett.

After failing to win another game that could have propelled the Cowboys to the playoffs, things obviously need to change in Dallas. Most believe that Jerry Jones should be the one relinquishing his GM responsibilities. It’s safe to say the fans are not happy with their team’s current management.

The Cowboys finished the 2012 season 6th in the league in total offensive yards, yet they were only 15th in scoring offense. As it stands, it doesn’t seem the Cowboys are willing to give up on Tony Romo just yet, despite his many mistakes that cost the Cowboys the playoffs. There have been debates that the team around Romo just isn’t good enough, and apparently the Cowboys still feel that they have a quarterback that can deliver them a Lombardi Trophy.

Jerry Jones may believe the offensive play calling is part to blame of the Cowboy’s recent woes. Jones isn’t the most patient person in the world, and he’s shown that he is not afraid to make changes. He may not think that Garrett’s offense is efficient enough anymore, but who knows what Jerry Jones is thinking anymore? Garrett’s job may not even be safe this offseason. Many wondered how DC Rob Ryan was fired, but how Garrett retained his job. This may be the start of Jason Garrett’s end in Dallas.
