Jonathan Vilma Rips Falcons Trash Talking
Per a report from Kathrine Terrell of NOLA.com and the Times-Picayune, New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma ripped the Falcons for the perceived disrespectful bravado they showed prior to the game last Sunday. During pregame warm ups, Vilma said the Falcons rubbed them the wrong way, instead of showing some respect and humility, they were “chirping the whole time” and “not acting like they had been there before.” The Falcons seemed to target the linebackers, specifically former Falcon Curtis Lofton.
“That’s our teammate. We don’t care where he’s from, he’s with us now,” Vilma said. “We’re just not going to have guys just chirping the whole time.”
Vilma said he attempted to address it with an assistant coach, but was told by the coach he didn’t have much control over it. Vilma said it showed something about the coach and the Falcons program. He went on to say that the Saints victory over the Falcons was in their rearview mirrow now:
“We’re not going to sit here and keep talking about how we beat the Falcons,” Vilma said. “We always beat the Falcons. Our team is 11-2 since Sean (Payton) got here.”
