Jurrell Casey: ‘We put those Terrible Towels up their butts’
Yesterday, as the Tennessee Titans beat the Pittsburgh Steelers some began to wonder how the Steelers looked so terrible in their week one game. Despite playing at home, the Steelers offense sputtered as they lost center Maurkice Pouncey. Following the game, some members of the Tennessee Titans offered clues as to how they were able to beat the Steelers at home.
Center Rob Turner believes because the Titans were able to control the run game, they were able to wear down the Steelers defense and win the game.
“I think at one point when we were running it you could see that defense start to wear down, and start to look around and say What’s going on?”
The Titans out rushed the Steelers by 90 yards, 112 yards to their 32 yards.
Defensive tackle Jurrell Casey believes it was the defense’s pressure that was able to help defeat the Steelers.
“You could see it in Ben’s eyes — he wanted to get back to that locker room pretty quick,” said defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, who had two sacks. “As long as we keep getting to quarterbacks, it’s going to be like that all year.”
Casey also had something to say about the Steelers fans and their yellow terrible towels.
“We made sure we put those Terrible Towels up their butts all day long,” Casey said. “They waved them at the beginning of the game, but they left pretty early.”
Both Casey and Turner may be right about how the Titans were able to beat the Steelers on Sunday.
If the Titans can continue to hold opposing offenses to under 200 total yards, they are going to be hard to beat on Sundays. Although I doubt the Titans will face opponents like the Steelers every game. Unless Mike Tomlin and the Steelers can figure out how to improve the offense, it is going to be a long season in Pittsburgh.
