Kenny Britt guarantees he’ll be a No. 1 receiver next year
During the 2013 NFL season, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt has 11 receptions for 96 yards. Despite playing in twelve games this season, Britt has been a healthy scratch or pulled from the starting lineup on a number of occasions due to too many penalties and dropped passes. Over the course of the year, Britt has been surpassed by Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter on the depth chart.
During his five seasons with the Titans, Britt has 2,450 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.
However, during those five seasons, Britt has been involved in a number of incidents with the police including a January 2013 stabbing incident that involved his brother. Over his tenure in the NFL, Britt has been involved in nine police incidents.
With Britt eligible to become a free agent at the end of the year, it appears as though he has played his last game as a member of the Tennessee Titans.
“I am going to be a No. 1 receiver somewhere else if I am not here next year, and that is guaranteed,” Britt said, via the Tennessean. ‘I am definitely going to be a receiver that makes plays on Sundays and makes something happen for a team.”
Britt has never topped 1,000 receiving yards in a season but did have a career high nine receiving touchdowns in 2010.
If Britt is going to become a number one wide receiver somewhere, he will have to stay out of trouble off-of-the-field and spend more time perfecting his game on-the-field.
Perhaps a team with more veteran presence would be able to keep Britt in line. Or, perhaps Britt will never learn how to stay out of trouble off-of-the-field.
