After Chick-Fil-A CEO made a statement about how he does not support gay marriage, the company has garnered support and protests from both sides of the debate. On Wednesday there was a day of support for Chick-Fil-A in which supporters lined up in order to buy food from the company. This led to comments from just about everyone on the situation.

In fact, even a few sports players weighed in on the day and Chick-Fil-A’s CEO’s stance. Detroit Lions linebacker Justin Durant had a few comments to make about Chick-Fil-A.

Durant started off with a tweet on how it should be someone’s right to choose who they marry:

Then Durant added that as long as he was good he could care less about what people choose to believe:

Instead of stopping there, Durant answered a Twitter followers question and took it a little too far. The Lions linebacker was asked if he would support Chick-Fil-A if they advocated for slavery. His response was, well, rather surprising.

Durant’s answer is rather surprising and he should have just kept quiet on the entire situation instead of taking it a little too far. However, if someone wants to eat Chick-Fil-A they should be able to and if they do not, they should be allowed to do that as well.
