Longtime NFL Linebacker Junior Seau dead at 43
In a sad report from TMZ, we’ve learned that former NFL Linebacker, Junior Seau has passed away from a self inflicted gunshot wound in his California home. He was 43. The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that there was a 911 phone call made around 10 AM this morning from Seau’s home.
Seau was drafted 5th overall in the 1990 NFL Draft. He was a part of 12 Pro Bowls, and played for the San Diego Chargers where he was later elected to the Chargers Hall of Fame. He also played for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Seau accounted for 1,849 tackles and 56.5 sacks in his career.
The San Diego Chargers have released the following statement: “Everyone at the Chargers is in complete shock and disbelief right now…We ask everyone to stop what they’re doing and send their prayers to Junior and his family.”
He was truly one of the All-Time greats in the NFL, and we at Sports-Kings send our deepest condolences to the Seau family.
